About the Artist An art studio is where brush strokes flow like notes of music and creates
poetry, sometimes as silent as an ocean and sometimes like a bubbling stream.
This is where Linda gives way to the whirlpool of imagination. She creates a
piece of art that has a life of its own.
Linda's technique includes a
mix of patterns of color and texture, with a pervasive sense of personal style.
Grand themes are transposed onto small panels and canvasses. She plays around
with the depth of colors to strike the right balance like that of a ballet
dancer. Currently Linda is working with pastels. She has yet to extend her
artwork using oils, but has a considerable amount of work to her credit with
watercolor, and pen and
ink.
Illusions are art, for the feeling person, and Linda takes
courage to pick up where nature ends. How this artist evolved is interesting. As
quoted by Paul Gauguin “I
shut my eyes in order to see”, Linda was destined to fall ill to realize
the talent of creating art that truly has the ability to transform the yellow
spot into the sun.
Linda never took art training until a few years ago
when she was ill and attended one class a week, whenever she felt well enough.
It was like a miracle. She just started creating wonderful artwork. As heard of,
that when a person is very ill, sometimes an unexposed talent may just appear
and this certainly happened to Linda. It brought forth a special talent that
most people can't capture even with years of art training.
While discovering challenges of art
she also shows concern by taking part in noble deeds. Linda has donated several
of her paintings to non-profit groups such as the Kanawha Charleston Animal
Shelter. Linda's art studio is at her home where she splits time with her 6
pets that accompany her while she is working at an aesthetic production.
